Scuba Diving in Japan

Postby TrueBlueSky » Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:46 pm

A short question regarding this topic. Since Japan is a island is surrounded by sea. So I guess you have divers there and diving clubs. Is it possible to earn money and live with that money in Japan as a scuba Instructor?

So the school is CMAS and IANTD. Both of them are world famous. So far I just have the 4. stars or master diver title. But I wish to become a scuba instructor. Would that be enough or do you need to specialize in trimix, rebreather diving and other stuff to have a chance to life from that job in Japan? So I'm just curious, any opinion on this would be great :D

I guess if it's possible then the instructor should also learn Japanese not only English and German, right?

Not "if possible" but "absolutely necessary". English and German speakers don't take scuba lessons in Japan - Japanese people do.
I do not dive, so cannot give details, but there are plenty of schools. I would assume it would be possible to teach in Japan. But speaking Japanese fluently would be a necessity.
